Scenario: The prestigious Indiana University was founded in 1820, but was later destroyed by a fire in 1883. The school was never rebuilt because the needed funds were lost. Attempting to change the ill-fated history of the school, you enter the Time Reversal Machine that will take you back to 1883 in an attempt find the needed funds. Your task is to enter the surface office and gain access to the primary control center within the mountain. There are only rumors surrounding this, but this may be one of the largest mine complexes in the world. Once there, you will need your tactical skills to intervene. I have been told that they are dealing with an unintended consequence of the attack, in that it released an aberration of nature that has been held behind a specialized containment field deep within the mountain. Actoroke – D&D 5th Edition with DM Satine Phoenix

Come watch a live D&D game with Dungeon Master, Satine Phoenix on the Gen Con Streaming Stage. Cheer on Jamison Stone (theredopera.com, thebardbook.com) John Iadarola (The Young Turks) & 2 surprise celebrity guests as they seek to reverse a curse, penned in revenge by the mad demonic-vampire lich, Mord Albtraum! This live game is the RPG portion of an “Actoroke” Production, a new storytelling concept developed by Peter Adkison. After this event, we will write a screenplay adaptation of this adventure and a cast of actors will perform the screenplay live, also on the Gen Con streaming stage, Sunday from 2pm-4pm, directed by Peter Adkison. After Gen Con, the video from those performances will be edited together to create a �movie� that will be streamed on Gen Con TV a couple of weeks later.

Actoroke – Actor Session

Earlier during Gen Con, Satine Phoenix DM�d a 5e RPG where Jamison Stone (theredopera.com, thebardbook.com), John Iadarola (The Young Turks) and others attempted to reverse a curse, penned in revenge by the mad demonic-vampire lich, Mord Albtraum! In the 3 days since this game, Actoroke screenwriter, Steve Conard, has adapted the story created in this RPG to a screenplay, and Peter Adkison has cast 8 actors to perform the 4 PC and 4 NPC roles in the story. Come watch Peter direct these actors in performing this screenplay in an Actoroke-style production. Watch behind-the-scenes directors and actors collaborating to create performance for film, and all based an a story created by RPG�ers. That is the magic of Actoroke! After Gen Con, the video from those performances will be edited together to create a �movie� that will be streamed on Gen Con TV a couple of weeks later.

Social interaction is critical to developing a secondary (and beyond) language. A critical part of any tabletop game is the social interaction, but some games promote less inaction than others. (Chess, for example, can be played without muttering one word to your opponent.) This presentation will discuss what to look for and what to avoid when it comes to using games as language resources. There are current examples, and an open forum to brainstorm other ideas.

But how can you build one on a budget without paying for expensive licenses or artist fees? In this presentation, you will learn how to use PowerPoint to create a basic escape room that can be deployed as a PowerPoint presentation and address ways to make the escape room accessible for people with disabilities.
